CACO - Professional musicians making awesome music available to everyone in our communities!
CENTRAL ALBERTA CHAMBER ORCHESTRA - CACO - was formed in 2022 by a small group of Central Alberta professional musicians with a passion for performance and community engagement.
CACO brings chamber music in all its varied forms to Red Deer and the surrounding area. The brainchild of Music Director James Bicigo and his wife, trumpetist Karen Gustafson, CACO gives professional and skilled musicians in Central Alberta the opportunity to perform in the communities they call home, giving those communities the chance to experience affordable orchestral music performances. CACO entertains its audiences with tailored programming featuring an array of styles from the classical to pop, frequently highlighting local composers.
CACO’s debut performance was hosted by the Red Deer Public Library in September 2022 as part of the 'First Thursday Concert Series' and featured original works by James Bicigo. The group’s inaugural season also included concerts at the Lacombe Performing Arts Centre, St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Red Deer, the Ponoka United Church (in partnership with Klaglahachie Fine Arts Society), and in the town of Innisfail at the Innisfail Public Library.

CACO is thrilled to have launched its robust third season, which includes a New Year's Eve gala!

CACO is incorporated as a non-profit and is generously supported by a grant from Red Deer Arts and Culture. The orchestra looks forward to building lasting relationships with audiences throughout Central Alberta!
